BIOLOGY 555: PRINCIPLES OF ELECTRON MICROSCOPY

Course Description: Lecture con the theory of sample preparation and microscope operation.

  • Meets once per week, one hour lecture, 1 unit
  • Prerequisites: 1 year Biology laboratory

BIOLOGY 556: SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE LABORATORY

Course Description: Operation of the scanning electron microscope

  • Meets once per week, three hour laboratory, 2 unit
  • Prerequisites: N/A
  • An additional 3 hours per week average is required to complete the labwork

BIOLOGY 557: TRANSMISSION ELECTRON MICROSCOPE LABORATORY

Course Description: Sample preparation and operation of the transmission electron microscope 

  • Meets once per week, three hour laboratory, 2 units
  • Prerequisites: N/A
  • An additional 4 hours per week average is required to complete the labwork
    • A 4 hour laboratory meets once per week, holds a one hour discussion section that meets once per week (TBA)—3 units
